Jerry passed on 1/25/2015. Several classmates attended his memorial.  Although we have not been able to locate an obituary,  the following is from his daughter Kenzie (with her sister) from a 2015 go fund me site:

My dad had the biggest heart I've ever seen. And loosing him has been harder than I could have ever imagined. His laugh was infectious his smile was contagious and he would give you his shirt off his back. His death was so unexpected and has broken the hearts of so many.
